Chantal Cappelletti, PhD


Dr. Chantal Cappelletti joins us as an Associate Editor after many years of active service as a Technical Area Editor (TAE) for the Journal. She is currently an Assistant Professor at University of Nottingham (UK), where she is affiliated with the Nottingham Geospatial Institute. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and a visiting researcher at Morehead State University (KY, US).

She is the co-founder of the Italian company GAUSS Srl. She has led six satellite projects in Italy (UNISAT program and others) and in Brazil (SERPENS, TuPOD). Currently, she is working on establishing a CubeSat program at the University of Nottingham with several small satellite projects and ongoing international cooperation.

Her primary interest areas are: space systems, small satellites, biomedical research in space, space debris, attitude control and astrodynamics. She is also member of the International Academy of Astronautics.
