Editor’s Preface

The first articles to be published in the Journal of Small Satellites (JoSS) were submitted in 2011. As we mark JoSS’s 10th anniversary of publishing, let me take this opportunity to thank all our contributors, reviewers, Technical Area Editors (TAEs), technical staff, and Associate Editors. Without your tireless efforts, we would not have been able to produce this unique Journal.

Prior to JoSS, there did not exist an online, peer-reviewed platform for scholarly articles addressing the issues, concerns, and developments specific to small satellites. Now, after 10 years of publishing, we have a viable, high-quality resource for our small satellite community that gives authors the opportunity to publish their research and findings on topics related to the safe operations of small satellites in space, at no cost to them.

As we transition into our next phase, we welcome several new international members to our Board of Editors, who join us as Associate Editors, including Jose Gomez (PhD) of the University of Barcelona in Spain. Chantal Cappelletti (PhD) from the University of Nottingham in the UK, and Robert van Zyl (PhD) of the CPUT Satellite Programme, South Africa. We look forward to their efforts in moving the journal forward. Again, we thank you all for your efforts as we forge this new path for scholarly, peer-reviewed information-sharing relevant to the international small satellite community. We look forward to your continued support.
